A Little Bit Of My Soul

I once had my courage and faith built as strong as iron,

cast into a lake of fire,

to come out being the one people looked up to,

then the rain fell upon my shoulder,

the glass window cracked as shifted to ice,

it was not nice,

set out to dry in a dusty desert,

alone and afraid, longing,

I ran a river of tears to find my way back,

until an ominous glow in the distance,

the light of your memories fading,

as I chased desperately trying to hold on,

to times passed,

to events ceasings,

a little bit of my soul,

was gone forever.

  1. the light of your memories fading,
as I chased desperately trying to hold on – this line gave me a lump on my throat and a bit of watery eyes. So beautiful!
