Passionate about You

You can't see the fire within

But you will feel the heat

Inside

Quick Point on Protests

When it comes to having passions, I think that is great. I love hearing about peoples lives, passions and hobbies, goals and more. When you push it too far into the realm that affects others though, it isn’t a good thing.

I wanted to express my opinion on this topic. When I see protestors I don’t see their point in hurting, disturbing or insulting the normal people not involved. Yes it involves some harm. You might say that protest is a great thing to oppose the institutions. Sure when done correctly.

Lately I keep seeing vegans showing animals abuse and slaughter in the streets on television screens, they wear masks and don’t speak. I agree with one or two people that this is disgusting to be showing people walking around in public, especially children. It isn’t fair to push this on people with the insinuation that they are bad for eating meat. Eating a plant based diet has benefits, sure. But there is a need for some humans to eat meat. Their bodies cannot tolerate all plant based or they lack protein from it. This is not a diet issue with some but a medical issue. So when I see vegan pushing it against everyone – including myself – I get offended.

Then there is the sitting in road protests against oil. It disturbs people from getting to work. It stop emergency services. What does this achieve? Nothing. Stopping cars on one road will not impact billion pound energy companies from selling oil. Nor will it stop the customer from buying it.

That is all. I don’t think forcing these things on people is the way to go. It makes me frustrated to see this because it upsets my fellow human beings and that in turn affects me. Being passionate doesn’t mean you should cause people alarm and distress. Love one another!

Now onto writing. I have a short story ready to publish although not sure if I will. I also started to publish one on Wattpad – exclusive there until further notice. It is called The Zombie Lands and will have a new part released every Saturday. You can follow me on there for updates on the story. It is free. I suppose I could put it for sale but it’s free for now. So enjoy!

Can I Take Your Order? Place your order if you dare (3)

Welcome back to Cafe Bleu. The last time we were here was back in April! Back then we had celebrated receiving a new 4 star rating! I was so excited and proud of my staff that I increased wages significantly. What followed was amazing, so I will break it down for you.

Following a staff meeting, and then a subsequent meeting after raising wages, a team member steps forward and offers some suggestions, and I am impressed with what she says so I give her a promotion to team leader. Her name is Anna. She recommended the following changes:

1# To cater for a wider variety of guests I should add a vegetarian and vegan option onto the menu. So I did! Everything on the menu has a vegan equivalent and I added some individual items which you can see below. We saw a rapid increase in customers as word spread that we now had vegan food.

2# To change the look of the menu, because it was too blue and the flowers at the bottom meant nothing. Initially I disliked this, so decided out of fear of change to make a ‘joke’ menu, which looked completely awful. What do you know, her suggestion to change actually caused me to make a design which customers loved! They said ‘it reminds them of a proper café.’ I cannot complain, Anna, thank you.

3# Add more food items to the list, to increase profit and this idea was already on my mind, the menu was so small, but I intended to keep our menu integrated into the new one. Yes profit was being made on the small menu, but having more options allowed more choice.

Look at the new bloody menu below! The staff are doing so well. We have a clean, highly regulated café with efficient staff, good hygiene procedures – we got 5 star on hygiene – and excellent customer service and feedback. After creating a box for anonymous feedback we found that 89% of visitors would come again, and that a whopping 98% had a nice time and enjoyed their food! What does that tell you?

We love to chat to new people, and have set up a dedicated booth for people to discuss their mental health, or any worries they may have and this is led by our newest addition to Café Bleu James. He’s a qualified psychologist and also works here, helping to clean tables and serve food and drinks.

You can get a starter, main meal and dessert for under or around £15 if you wanted. Where else will you find such excellent quality food at affordable prices?!

Below is our current rating, which I hope will change by next month when they come to inspect.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Do you want to be a full time writer? (poll question time. Yay!) Morning Stretch.

Obviously writing full time is going to take the fun out of writing. Plus you will literally have no other choice but to treat it like a full time job, 9-5 everyday. People think they can just write when they want and class themselves as writers, true to an extent, but those aspiring to write full time have no chance because it is a full time job. You have to write everyday to make money, time not writing is going to cost you. You’ll end up without any money. Even if you do pump out a lot of work, there is no guarantee you’ll earn enough to sustain yourself. It is saddening to see so many young people start to become ‘writers’ because they had a good idea, and then later find themselves without money trying to convince people on twitter they are writing full time. I find that so-called writers are spending a lot of time on twitter and other social media. I don’t, but over the last two weeks I have spent more time on there in the hope to see irregular posts from authors. Most of them are on there posting **** all day everyday. They are obviously using their phones. I don’t have a smart phone thank goodness, save me and my soul from the mundane. I just don’t get it, are they actually writing, or spending all their time imagining writing? I am not going back on there for some time. It was well over something like 9 months before I posted something again.

Slipping Through My Hands

Honing into a fletched clumbered path

shown a mysterious moment in time

how confused was I

at the things waiting for me

being mine, confused again at this underlying, event

a sprocket loaded full of repent in your phone

do you feel like talking to my face

turning away as loss becomes frequent

slipped through my hands...

can be extremely painful

losing someone

even more so

when that somebody

just so happened, to be you.

No denial in the hands of the wolf

or your desire to lay with a hay stack

let me hold you one more time

once more dance to our shared lives

a life that is ready to accept

slipped through the cracks

had to turn back

found you lying still

loss of light from eyes

burning passion wipes away secret tears

where do you go?

bowed at the knight

Gabriel, "bless her with delight"

no more, slipped into the blight.

Typewriting & The Writer

I have decided to engage online remember? I used to own a typewriter and wrote a few stories on it. When I moved last year I did not bring it with me. Now, I want one again. I checked online, etsy and found that 1960s light blue Olympia for a couple hundred quid. Rather expensive. Unless it works flawlessly then you might be better using pen and paper or even just, you know, your laptop. Actually I just checked and cannot see it on the first page anymore. It was expensive compared to the others, but ironic is that my old typewriter was Olympia… stupid to not bring with me perhaps.

Writing for me has become a digital experience. I use a laptop. As for making time to write, I always try to write something everyday, including on this blog, which I thoroughly enjoy. Plus, it is in line with my own goals and writing ideals, namely to writer everyday and write to targets. You might like this post by Writers Digest about making time to write. It touches on the idea that you can productively ‘waste time’ by blogging. I suppose this is true, if you are an aspiring novelist then blogging won’t help that. I have seen authors on WordPress who can do both which is great. I am one of them.

If I ever go back to a typewriter though I know I will enjoy it too much. The downsides: no spellcheck, sometimes the formatting can get a little screwy, and no choice of text colour. I experience a red/black ribbon, and that was all. It was also quite noisy, which I suspect was due to age. There were sticking issues too. But they provide more creativity I believe, they allow creative expression to flourish as you are not distracted by the idea of opening ‘new tabs’ or watching porn or ordering online food. They are excellent, however, laptops have become the norm.

As a writer and one who does intend to publish further, I find the whole process incredibly rewarding. There will be times of procrastination and that is when you grab a bottle of red wine or perhaps a whiskey and cigar, pretending you are cool, knowing deep down you are the boss of your own destiny.

If you enjoyed reading, please like, comment, follow and reblog! Have a wonderful life!

Cheese Glorious Cheese… & Fries

Confession time. Not last night, but the night before I ate this chicken burger. It was called a ‘tower burger’ and consisted of chicken, hash brown, cheese, lettuce and tomatoe and onion, some BBQ sauce and two lovely buns – not the sesame buns, some variety of gourmet/posh buns. Anyway, I hadn’t slept and I needed to eat so I ordered. It came with really tasty crispy fries with peri peri powder, brilliant taste. I am supposed to be a vegan but since I hadn’t slept I felt like I should divulge myself. Anyway it was lovely and I considered it a treat. Was it filling? Yes it was. Did it taste nice? Hell yes. How did I feel after? I have no idea as half hour after eating I blacked out for 12 hours on the sofa, apparently You Only Live Twice {James Bond} had played on tv and at some point turned itself off, as the day after it said ‘watch again.’ Well I slept right through that.

The picture above is from the site I ordered from. They forget my drink even though I ordered a meal which included one. Not the end of the world, great takeaway. I feel slightly guilty though for giving in to the meaty temptation. I suffered bad heartburn and a ‘junk food hangover’ the next day. It reminded me why I went vegan to begin with!

It wouldn’t be a good post without a poem about said burger: I Ate Chicken, Ultimate Vegan Sinner

Not knowing how passion could exist without it
or how the eyelids could remain awake
the meaning of life slipped into a bun
I remember just how much it was 'yum-yum'
no pickled beetroot, no devastating soya
I just know, I was all out of juice

New album by Joe Satriani – Elephants of Mars! Genius, brilliant! Review will come sometime soon my love.

Three Steps To Strength

Reckoning
It is the time for life, for love and for freedom
hearing you call my name across the still of the lake
watching the eagle fly
or the head of the snake
devoured

Breaker
My arms are holding onto the ledge
my eyes are deflecting the pain and the beast
praying to God, 'how can this be?'
my lonely existential anguish
breaker of the ravishing
illusions

Isolation
Cannot think, cannot heal
all I want, is to feel
love that you should have given
I would not ask for more
instead isolated
wondering what more
can be taken

Reflection
In the mirrors you are no longer a smiling face
no longer content to live in pain
acceptance of the truth
one escape or way out
... and where were all you living beings
... and the sunlight on my darkest nights
oh, 'just too busy, living for eternity'

What Happened Next
I am the wall that divides heaven and earth
the soul who's million year adventure was built, verse by verse
alone and content, seeing evil beings, repent
I smile again, you see me strong
so many people, have now long gone
what happened next
I was the best, you were the rest
undying and no longer simplifying
my strength is a rock
the silent ticking, of the universal clock.

Some music to relax to.
