New Year Story Coming to You

Aside from having a list of work in progress I need to finish I also have stories that are waiting to be unleashed on the world.

I have of course got Beach Town: Survivors [Part II] which is being edited as we speak. So it’s on the horizon. Hopefully it’s worth the wait for those who will buy/download it.

Next on the list is the surprise new story. Coming under many categories or genres although horror in nature. It’s a mix of; zombies, military, war, science, alternate history and politics. It’s spanning five decades although the majority will happen in present day Britain. It’s called Battle of the Zombies at the moment and I can’t think of more to say other than looking forward to showing you all

Writer Spotlight #8 – Alexa Sommers!

Welcome to yet another wonderful and insightful author interview. This time we are allowed to meet the No. 1 Bestselling Author, of #smut!

Alexa took the time to chat to me initially over social media to discuss this interview, and I found her work titillating and somewhat wildly different to the usual as she does not have the usual alpha males in her stories but rather the geeks and gamers of our world. I found Level Up to be branding ingenuity. There also seems to be plenty to read from her too!

Alexa Sommers is a best-selling erotic fiction author with a taste for both the sweet and the nasty.

Alexa’s Philosophy: The sexual experience, be it written, read, or enacted, cannot be rushed. It must be savored and prolonged to push forth the lust and desire. It must not only be loved but lived, for only then can we reach the heights we seek.

Where do you live? I’m currently bundled up in a toasty igloo north of the border, eating poutine, watching hockey and waiting for my pet moose to deliver a Timmy’s double double.

Why are you a writer? My standard reply to this question is “to stop the voices in my head from taking over my life” and, while humorous, that’s not far from the truth. When I’m really feeling a story it plays out in my mind on repeat. Spinning constantly and forming until I finally start to put it down and let it free. Writing is cathartic, it’s a form of freeing myself and finding peace. I’ve been a writer my entire life and I always tell people that you write for yourself, you write for the art, the joy, they feeling… you publish for money. That last step was something I didn’t decide to do until early 2020.

What do you enjoy about writing? For me it is an escape, almost like meditation. I can regress internally and let the story flow, freeing my mind from all the everyday rigors and concerns of life. When it works it’s perfect. When it doesn’t it is one of the most frustrating things I know of.

Tell us about your most recent works: Oddly all my published work is “recent” or at least within the last 2.5 years, but I am currently working on a number of projects. I have sequels to both Terms of Service and Spiritual Awakening underway. Both of these are often requested and in the case of Paranormal Bondage (the Spiritual Awakening sequel) it’s become a running joke that I may never finish it. I have a collaborative project with 14 or 15 other authors planned for this fall which will revolve around a Comic/Game Convention and I have what I call the “epic”, which is a long term novel project I’m working on, it leans fantasy but as with all my work the sexual experience is ever present.

If you could write a book in a new genre, which would you choose? Mystery. I have always wanted to try my hand at a detective novel and may make it a priority sometime in the future.

Do you have any role models or people who inspired you to write? I’m an avid reader so that list is long but Agatha Christie was a big influence at a young age as were Nora Roberts and Nicholas Sparks in my teens and twenties. In recent years I’ve tried to stay away from taking inspiration from other authors so as to find my own voice.

Are you working on anything at the moment? I’m aiming for a Halloween release for Paranormal Bondage and have a few small projects I’ll be working in over the summer. I just released a short “charity” project, Cucked by a Cop, which is part of my “eviscerate you in fiction” series of satire erotica.

What advice would you give to an aspiring writer? Write… don’t worry about everything that will follow. The first step is to get your story down, no matter how error riddled and in desperate need of editing it may be. Far too many people give up before the first draft is down because they don’t think it has value. Your draft will be a disaster. It’s supposed to be. Fixing it comes later.

Where can people buy your books? All my work can be found on Amazon at :

Alexa was happy for me to post this interview and I am humbled to have had a chance to gain insight into the authors life and works! Many thanks for reading and show your love by liking, commenting, reblogging and everything else. Have a wonderful day.

Pre-order Beach Town: Survivors! Now!

https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/1156040

Wow! The day is now here when you can go ahead and pre-order my new upcoming horror, zombie apocalypse tale of survival – Beach Town: Survivors.

What an emotional journey to write this haunting and horrific tale. You will not be disappointed because it is just stuffed full of drama, undead skull crushing and heart ache, fighting and survival that will honestly scare you. Hopefully.

I am so grateful to all of you for your support on this platform. I may not publish on Amazon as they are causing many issues. By pre-ordering you support me, and of course when the time comes if you review then you will also support me!

Lots of love to you all. Honestly, writing this novella was the best thing to happen this year to me. It made me realise that actually yes, I can write a shorter story and still have all the elements I want. Granted the cover is a lot different than one would expect from a zombie apocalypse tale, but the contrast with the serene water and coloured skies to the undead and fighting on the island is lovely.

As mentioned in some previous posts, I do intend to carry this ‘mini series’ on after this novella, having already started the second. Then there is the Dead Reckoning novella. It’s a lot of fun, and I hope you will join me and my stories.

Final Cover

I decided to go and use the new font for the cover which I prefer. The title is in a shade of yellow, to reflect the tone of the sand on the beach. The cover stands in stark contrast to the story; it is calm and tranquil whilst the survivors are learning how to stay alive some months into the zombie apocalypse which has ravaged the town. Of course the island is now overrun and there is no way out since the bridge to the adjacent island and city is blown!

At the end of Beach Town: Hope we see the rescue team evacuate some of the survivors to the city (if you haven’t read the story then please go and grab a copy) however to those who did read, we know that did not work out so well at all. Not to mention the city is completely swamped with undead… but that is for another novel, which may be the 3rd, but everything is top secret. You will have to enjoy the Survivors stories in between the novels. I think it is a great way to show you some of the horrific things that have been happening in town since the outbreak.

The change in font and style was due to the other looking too ‘good.’ It is the zombie apocalypse and the new font I believe has a worn down feel, and kind of looks like someone painted it. Do you agree? Almost as if the survivors themselves painted it before they ran off into a horde of the undead… I am also looking for people to review this once it is ready to publish.

You can see the new font, and the use of a shade of yellow on the title. I like the glow as it stands out, it also looks like a painted sign almost.

Writing Goals for June

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog post today. I hope you have had an enjoyable week and are looking forward to the weekend celebrations. I read a post on social media describing someone’s writing goals on the Medium platform. I have published a few posts there myself, however my site is my main source of writing. Plus, you all get to see it! It would take a while to build up to the same amount of followers on there, so will add to Medium every once in a while.

So my motivation was sparked by that post to add my own writing goals for June. I listed 3 main goals in my notepad. I also listed 3 lesser goals. Here they are:

1) To Complete my Masters Submission for the 10th June.

As part of my law course I have to do a masters too, it is on clinical legal education and involves a critical reflective report. I have managed 2,500 words on it today taking the word count to just over 6,000. I have to write between 8000-9000 words overall. So tomorrow I will edit what I’ve written today. I am planning to have completed it by Sunday or Monday which will give me a few days to review and edit it.

2) Finish Beach Town: Survivors

The new upcoming and horrifying novella which I plan to release in August 2022. A summer release for what I think it quite the gruesome and dramatic story. I’ve managed to crank out 2,500 yesterday or more, and tonight I suspect I will be able to finish the story. There has been a lot of surprises whilst writing, namely that it is just full of bizarre twists and turns and unexpected happenings. You can see a little more about that by going to the post below, where you can also see what I hope is going to be a good cover!

3) To Reach 600 Followers on WordPress

I really enjoy connecting with you all here on WordPress and putting out content which is so well received. I would love to hit 600 followers by the end of the month. I don’t have that many to go and have exceeded my expectations massively this year, as I’ve gained so many great new ones and likewise discovered so many new and fascinating blog sites here.

4) To Write More About my Life

As I recently started counselling sessions I hope to be able to keep a more accurate diary of my days and to try and incorporate that onto this site sometimes. I think it will allow me to actually see where things are improving, and where things are still in need of support. Many people do this so why not dedicate more time to it?

Well that is all for now and as usual thank you for reading, if you enjoyed then like, comment, reblog and follow and share all over. Also, check out the Dawn of the Dead (1978) movie review below if you like.
