Sangrala

It's a crooked path

of pain and hate

but where does it lead to?

of mystery, suspense

do you know it?

Perhaps it was never truly a path to begin with

but a mere shadow in the dark

a flicker of a moment

that you fell for

so when will the wrong, be righted?

who will stop the pain and the anguish?

a solemn call from beyond the grave

your future self pleading for you to stop

stop, you say, take a big leap, and change

before it is too late

at the rise of the tide you will be drowned

if you do not stand upon the hill or ride in the boat

let the water wash over you

bathe in the glory

challenge that which we cannot see

and cannot feel

that is.

Dead Set

Dead set on improving my writing. Following a stricter, albeit tougher schedule. My life has been overhauled since the new year.

So far, I’ve written a couple of short stories, part of a long work of fiction likely to become a novelette and am in the midst of a new novel. Great. Right?

Well, yes. In a word. Actually doing the work in this ‘work’ manner is a challenge. You see, before I used to slip writing inbetween breaks, early mornings, evening, night etc. Now it’s become a daily ritual. My writing is no longer a past time. It is still a hobby but one that I now take to a whole new level.

Passed the hurdle of newbie, beyond the scope of aspiring author and into the realm of something around full time. This is not a choice or event that I believed would happen this year. I made the new year decision to simply go at it like a full time job. And, in the payoff I’ve been more productive than ever. I didn’t want it to replace working, but it has.

Now, the task of actually writing stories people read and enjoy. I believe the market for the stories I’ve already published to be massive, but acquiring the readers, traffic and reviews is the hard part. Marketing.

Quite literally an update on my writing. A chance for me to say how happy it is making me. Truly. Follow your passion. They say you never work a day in you life when your job is your passion. Or something like that.

You are Enough

Hi all. Hope you’re having a great day.

After having a read through sites lately I noticed that the general negative attitude of people is generally being dominated by positive messages. I am enjoying seeing these uplifting and heart warming posts. Particularly on Twitter (follow me if you want: @Thomas87520559).

It wasn’t long ago that the timelines – mine at least – was obscured with such ill wishes. Of course a lot are real, insulting and dangerous. Most can be classed as bait, stirring up arguments among the Writing Community. Join the community by talking to the indie authors on Twitter. Thankfully a lot of people are waking up to the fact that not responding and antagonising such people is better. I was ready to delete my account at one point before the new year because all I saw was arguing! It’s not nice!

Well this brings us to the title of this post. You are Enough. You are, truly. Don’t feel like you are worth less because you don’t respond to the negativity. Don’t feel like less even if you do. Don’t compare yourself to those who produce negativity and hate and then tell you it’s your fault. Stay true to yourself. You are enough the way you are, nobody else defines that. So, no matter how much it might impact you, in reality it shouldn’t.

I love the above quote. You don’t need to feel less worthy if for example, you wrote a story but didn’t get published. You don’t need to feel like you are better than people who haven’t published either, if you have. These are dangerous comparisons. Sure, you have goals, aims and such but that is your life. Not theirs.

I can imagine that the reason that many people are depressed or anxious is because they think it’s a race, a competition. It’s not, no matter what people say. This is life and you can do what you want. You do not need to be wearing someone else’s clothes to feel good, nor do you have to be driving a sporty car, or running ten miles a day.

If you are happy to be you, then you will always be happy.

Aside from that I’m writing on my work I’m progress today. It’s a ghost story if you are wondering. Strange happenings. I hope to have a good first draft by mid-February latest. I’m not keen on working on anything else at the moment. Although I did have another story in the works, it can wait.

That’s enough chat, time for a poem. Titled You are Enough.

A rain drop

trickles, alone

along a pane of glass

Chasm

Behind your eyes

Layers upon layer, of your lies

When I stare across the ocean

You glance at me

Our souls meet

Divided

The water settles

Waves stagnating

Fish, die

Sun, blinds

Clouds that spit, fire

Can we ever be together?

When the storm breaches our momentum

Wanton, longing for never ending

Chasm.

Amethyst – The Crystal of Healing

Amethyst is a widely available and modesty priced crystal compared to many others. It is one of the more potent crystals with powerful healing properties.

You can feel an instant peace of mind when you are in the presence of this crystal, or when you hold it. It’s a crystal composed of vibrant purples and white colours, both high vibration associations.

Amethyst is from the quartz family. It can be found all over the world. And it widely used within the developed world.

The crystal possesses metaphysical properties. The main ones being calm, balance and peace with are brought about to those who have this in their aura or vicinity. The importance of calm in meditation make it ideal for using during your sessions.

As for healing, it’s a crystal known to help improve mental clarity and aid in sobriety. That’s only one healing. It is powerful in emotional, physical and spiritual healing as well. Emotional healing comes in the form of calm mind, more patience, better ability to sedate and transform your negative emotions into positive ones and even a better ability to feel mentally secure. In other words the crystal will help you feel like you are better, and it works as soon as you hold it.

Physically it works with the body to improve circulation. It can help heal physical ills inside us, by strengthening our adrenals and heart, and by increasing the immune systems effectiveness. It enhances our physical vitality. Amethyst works in healing the pancreas and spleen and aids in cleansing the lungs too. So if you are sick, unwell etc. it will help you recover quicker.

Stress relief that comes from this crystal aids physical and emotional healing along with its ability to detoxify the body, likely from the increased circulation that comes from using the crystal. It is a high vibration crystal so you might want to use a grounding stone along side amethyst.

In summary, the benefits are as follows:

  • enhancing the immune system
  • improving endocrine function
  • improving the skin’s appearance
  • promoting digestive health
  • reducing headaches
  • regulating hormones

I suspect that all of those benefits come from the increased circulation and improved stress. It is a powerful crystal that it able to transform the negative to positive.

Thanks for reading.

Tuesday. Slow, rainy. Writing. Deals.

The title sums up my day so far.

Promoting my second published novel Beach Town: Hope as it hasn’t had as many reviews as the first. Would love some more. Really not sure about the 3rd book. I have a plot, start etc. but haven’t wrote anything more than the first chapter. Focusing on Survivors seems to have taken the lead, Survivors Part II was finished before Christmas, I just need to edit the story and then I can unleash it to you all.

Woke up to yet another rain shower this morning, drilling into my ceiling I might add. I live in a top floor apartment, it’s not super loud or annoying but would rather wake to sunshine. I’m sure you all would.

Dawn Of The Dead (1978) Movie Review from Eye for Film

Writing a new short story on Wattpad again. The Mortuary is focused on Gareth as he conducts as autopsy, but then the deceased start to rise from the grave. I might carry on writing this at some point but for now you have a big chunk to read may be part I, or just the full story. Might writer more, see how I feel about it. Of course you also have The Zombie Lands to check out. A slow start, but I guess the dead are slow. The farmer hasn’t really had much luck getting out of the area yet!

New Story: Free eBook limited time

Another new release to start the year off. Originally intended to be vampire fiction this turned into a supernatural/paranormal short story.

It’s approx. 40 pages long and can be read in a sitting. You could read over lunch, or even whilst waiting on a train, bus, plane etc.

I was originally intending to keep this to myself, however the story really spoke to me and so I thought I’d share it. You can download for free for a limited time on Amazon. It is always free on Kindle Unlimited as it is enrolled in KDP.

Searching

In a never ending landscape of unconscious desire

Longing to find the one, who set me on fire

Maybe the words will slip from my lips

Perhaps it's all just going to fall to bits.

As we meet we don't acknowledge

The feelings

Deny our believing's

In one another.

So when the sun touches the horizon

As it sets behind earths magnetic hills

And night leaps into the day

Such a pain to say

So much more...

Just as dreams touch the night

They touch the day, everyday.

No longer hidden from my own hearts desire

So I found a way to search through the minds lair

Although the labyrinth is big

Bigger than I'll ever be

It's just a disillusioned rig

Shapes and noise form consequence.

Coming down the second sunset...

There she goes

As it too passes with time

The silver river of my mind

Waving, waiting

Anxiously anticipating

What we will say.
