Tartarus

welcome to the humble abode

do you see your heart still beating

a fleeting feeling

the heat is pounding down

all around, they are coming from the ground

we are lost in the dark

oh no, how do we get back to the start?

universal literature

alternative dimension

your unattained ascension.

  1. In Greek mythology, Tartarus (/ˈtɑːrtərəs/; Ancient Greek: Τάρταρος, Tártaros)[1] is the deep abyss that is used as a dungeon of torment and suffering for the wicked and as the prison for the Titans. Tartarus is the place where, according to Plato’s Gorgias (c. 400 BC), souls are judged after death and where the wicked received divine punishment. Tartarus is also considered to be a primordial force or deity alongside entities such as the Earth, Night, and Time. (wikipedia)

  2. The Underworld is a level in almost every video game. You can’t move on to the next level until you pass out of “Hell”. I’ve always thought that was an interesting parallel to life.

      1. It’s funny. The real world you’re trying to get out of is your own self. The world in your own head. Once you make peace in there, you start finding yourself naturally in a new dimension.
