Dunes

Ripples in time,

along a ridge so fine,

ciphering grain by grain,

with no rain,

sun beating down,

burning our hearts,

no grass for sore-sight,

absence of contact,

desolate and fearful,

snakes slither in the crevices between your toes,

having to dunk our heads,

beneath the dunes.
